The Camp Experience: The St. Norbert College Youth Soccer Camp delivers a premier, all-inclusive developmental experience for young athletes seeking to elevate their game within a challenging, professional, and inspiring collegiate environment. Designed for motivated players of all ability levels, the camp emphasizes technical excellence, tactical awareness, and confident match play—empowering each camper to reach their full potential. Daily on-field sessions are structured to refine core fundamentals, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and decision-making through competitive small-sided and full-field play. Campers receive individualized instruction within a structured, safe, and competitive setting that promotes growth both technically and mentally. Newly developed skills are reinforced in game-based scenarios alongside current and former St. Norbert College student-athletes.
Beyond the field, campers experience a true collegiate soccer immersion. Participants engage in guided film-study sessions designed to enhance soccer IQ and tactical understanding through visual analysis and discussion. Campers also enjoy meals in St. Norbert College’s nationally recognized dining facilities—ranked the #1 college cafeteria in the nation—providing high-quality nutrition in a first-class campus setting. To further support recovery and performance, pool sessions are incorporated into the schedule, emphasizing regeneration, mobility, and \ overall athlete wellness. The camp follows an intensive three-and-a-half-day format and is directed by Men’s Head Soccer Coach Derek Rhodes, whose background combines professional playing experience with NCAA Division I and collegiate coaching excellence. Coach Rhodes enters his 14th season as Head Coach of the St. Norbert College Men’s Soccer program.
Under his leadership, the Green Knights have captured six conference championships over the past ten seasons, including the 2021 NACC Regular Season Championship, marking his 15th overall NCAA Conference Championship as a player and coach. The 2025 season concluded with an 11–8 overall record and a third-place finish in one of the nation’s most competitive conferences.
Previously, Coach Rhodes served as an assistant coach during one of the most successful periods in program history (2004–2007), helping guide the Knights to three conference championships and three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by a trip to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. As a player, Coach Rhodes was a four-year NCAA Division I starter and team captain at the University of Massachusetts, where he helped lead his team to two Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championships and an Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship. He earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 and All-New England Regional honors in 2002. Campers will also have the opportunity to train with the full St. Norbert College Men’s Soccer coaching
staff, gaining exposure to a collegiate training environment that emphasizes discipline, leadership, personal growth, and excellence—both on and off the field.
